Covers for the next, Khan-focused, issued of Star Trek Magazine.
Out this week is the fifth and final issue in IDW’s Into Darkness prequel series, Khan. The story concludes Khan’s post-Into Darkness trial, with the second issue in the series explaining what he got up to in the 23rd century prior to the events of the film. If you were a little disappointed at the parts of Khan’s story which seemed to be skipped over in the previous issue, you should find this one more satisfying, as it fills in a lot of the gaps. Here’s a seven page preview to wet your apatite.

Xfinity, a US service provider and digital entertainment platform, have released a new advert featuring nuTrek Spock and Chekov. In “Bold Explorers”, the two Enterprise crewmen, and some lens flares they brought with them, find themselves in the Xfinity Innovation Center, and are dazzled by how futuristic it, and the X1 Entertainment Operation System (an internet TV service), is.
This is the latest in a string of adverts featuring nuTrek characters; with Spock also apparently a fan of the X-Box One, and Mr Sulu and Science Officer 0718 finding a miraculous use for General Electric’s deep sea fuel technology. You can find other Star Trek infused adverts scrolling back through my "adverts" label.
Square Enix have released several new images of their nuTrek Kirk and Spock Play Arts KAI eleven inch tall action figures. This time they’re showing off how poseable the figures are, as well as pointing out the accessories and extra hands to be included. Reporting on the images, Toy Ark have also revealed the pricing and release dates for these; we should expect to see them in August, for $90 each. For more photos see my previous report:
The next issue of the Star Trek ongoing comic series, the first part of the new two-part story, Parallel Lives, is out in a couple of weeks. StarTrek.com must be looking forward to this tale, featuring a gender-swapped Enterprise crew, as they have already have a preview up.
Read above for a seven page introduction to Captain Jane Tiberia Kirk, and her crew, Spock, Nnamdi Uhuro, Marjorie Scott, Hikari Sulu, Pavlona Chekov, and Jason Rand.
