Looking at how their schedule is filling up I wouldn’t expect this new German translation until at least late 2013, more likely some time in 2014!
Cross Cult have posted their new artwork for their German translation of New Frontier - Excalibur: Requiem. Meanwhile Jens Deffner (of UnrealitySF, and my regular source of information out of Germany) has pointed me towards Martin Frei’s blog (the artist who does Cross Cult’s new covers). There you can see the initial sketch for the new Dark Allies cover (the finished version of which was posted a couple of months ago), as well as the sketch for this new cover.
I’ve been looking forward to the Cross Cult cover art for the Typhon Pact books, as the original US editions were some of the most disappointing Trek covers ever. The same certainly cant be said for the German editions, after the first two a couple of days ago, Cross Cult have now released their new covers for Rough Beasts of Empire and Paths of Disharmony, the last two in the original four book Typhon Pact series.
Dayton Ward has handily saved me a bit of image fiddling by already stitching all four covers together, and what a magnificent image they create! Someone needs to give Star Trek Magazine a poke to get this released as a centerfold!
Cross Cult have started to release cover art for their versions of the Typhon Pact books. UnrealitySF’s Jens Defner (who regularly fills me one Cross Cult’s activities) has pointed me to a post on the Facebook page which reveals the first four novels’ cover will join up to form one larger image. The first two have been released: Zero Sum Game, with the delightfully joined up title in German as Nullsummenspiel. And Seize the Fire, which doesn’t seem to have it’s German name yet. At first I thought it might have a new image of the Titan; although at closer inspection it appears to be a reissue of one of the Titan images first seen in the Star Trek Magazine a few years ago (good for it to get a wider viewing I guess).
